Driving to the doctor, physical therapy, the pharmacy or your lawyer's office adds up, and those miles can be part of your claim. The Quilia app keeps a mileage log for you, so you do not have to fill out a paper form.
You only need to say where you went. The app works out the miles.
Where to find Mileage
- Car accident cases: tap Vehicle at the bottom of the screen, then Transportation, then Mileage.
- Other injury cases: tap Health at the bottom of the screen, then Mileage.
The Mileage screen shows every trip you have logged and your total miles at the top.
Logging a trip
- On the Mileage screen, tap Add Trip.
- Pick the Reason for the trip: a medical appointment, therapy or PT, the pharmacy, your attorney's office, or something else.
- Under From, pick where you started: Home, Work, or another address.
- Under To, pick one of your providers or type an address.
- Check the date and whether it was a Round trip. Round trip is on to start, since most drives are there and back.
- Tap Save.
The miles fill in on their own, using the driving distance from where you started. If your drive was different, for example you took a detour, change the number before you save.
To fill in miles automatically, the app needs your home address. If it does not have it, you will see Add your home address on the form.
Logging a visit you already have
Your past appointments that do not have a trip yet show at the top of the Mileage screen, in gray, with Tap to log. Tap one and the trip is filled in for you: the date, the provider and the miles. Check it and tap Save.
If you had not told the app whether you went to that visit, logging the trip also marks it as attended.
You can also log a trip from the appointment itself. Open the appointment and tap Log mileage.
When you mark a visit as attended, the app also offers to log the drive for you.
Already keeping a log on paper?
If you have been writing your trips down, or you have screenshots of your routes from a map app, you do not have to type them in again.
Prefer paper? Download a printable mileage log, keep it in your car, and upload a photo of it when the page is full.
- On the Mileage screen, tap Upload Mileage Log.
- Take a photo of your log, or pick a photo or screenshot from your phone.
- The app reads it and shows what it found, like We found 4 trips · 54 mi.
- Tap Add all, or tap Review to check each trip first.
Trips that are already on your list are skipped, so nothing is added twice.
You can also send the photo to Quilia in a message or upload it on the Files tab. Either way it is recognized as a mileage log.
Logging a trip by text
You can tell Quilia about a drive in a message, in any language the app supports. For example:
- "Drove to physical therapy this morning."
- "Fui a la farmacia ayer."
Quilia logs the trip and fills in the miles.
What your law firm sees
Every trip you log goes to your law firm right away, with the date, where you went and the miles. They can download your full mileage log when they need it.
The app tracks miles only. Your law firm works out any reimbursement amount.
Changing or deleting a trip
Tap a trip on the Mileage screen to change it. To remove it, open the trip and delete it.
