  1. Sign in to Salesforce.
  2. Click the gear icon and open Setup.
  3. In the Quick Find box, type App Manager.
  4. Click App Manager.

Step 2: Create the Quilia External Client App

  1. In App Manager, click New External Client App.

  2. Fill out the basic information:

    • External Client App Name: Quilia Integration
    • API Name: Quilia_Integration (auto-generated)
    • Contact Email: tech@quilia.com
    • Distribution State: Local
    • Info URL: https://www.quilia.com/integrations/salesforce/

Step 3: Enable OAuth Settings

  1. In the same form, check Enable OAuth Settings.

  2. Set the Callback URL to https://portal.quilia.com/api/integrations/salesforce/callback.

  3. Under OAuth Scopes, add only the following:

    • Access the identity URL service (id, profile, email, address, phone)
    • Manage user data via APIs (api)
    • Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)
    • Access unique user identifiers (openid)
  4. Do not add extra scopes such as Chatter, Visualforce, Lightning, Analytics, Data Cloud, or Pardot.

Step 4: Configure OAuth Flow Options

Set the flow options exactly as follows:

  • Enable Client Credentials Flow: Unchecked
  • Enable Authorization Code and Credentials Flow: Checked
  • Enable Device Flow: Unchecked
  • Enable JWT Bearer Flow: Unchecked
  • Enable Token Exchange Flow: Unchecked

Step 5: Configure Security Options

Under Security Options, use these settings:

  • Require secret for Web Server Flow: Checked
  • Require secret for Refresh Token Flow: Checked
  • Require Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE): Checked
  • Enable Refresh Token Rotation: Unchecked
  • JSON Token: Unchecked

Click Create.

Step 6: Set OAuth Policies

  1. Open the newly created Quilia Integration app.
  2. Go to the Policies tab.
  3. Click Edit in the top-right corner.

Under OAuth Policies, use these recommended settings unless your security team requires otherwise:

  • Permitted Users: All users may self-authorize
  • IP Relaxation: Relax IP restrictions
  • Refresh Token Policy: Refresh token is valid until revoked

Click Save.

Step 7: Get the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret

  1. Open the Settings tab on the Quilia Integration app.
  2. Scroll to OAuth Settings and expand the section if needed.
  3. Click Consumer Key and Secret.

If Salesforce sends a verification code to your email, enter it when prompted.

Salesforce will display:

  • Consumer Key
  • Consumer Secret

Leave this screen open for the next step.

Step 8: Confirm Your Salesforce Login URL

Most firms use:

https://login.salesforce.com

If your firm uses a different Salesforce login URL, use the exact address shown in your browser when you sign in.

Step 9: Enter the Credentials in Quilia

  1. Sign in to Quilia as an admin.
  2. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  3. Find Salesforce in the Case management list and click Connect.
  4. Click Continue to open the connection details.
Find Salesforce under Case management, then select Connect.

Enter the following:

  • Consumer Key: From Step 7
  • Consumer Secret: From Step 7
  • Login URL: From Step 8

Click Save.

Enter the Salesforce OAuth credentials and login URL, then save the connection.

Security Notes

  • Treat the Consumer Secret like a password.
  • Only share these credentials with trusted team members and your Quilia contact.
  • Avoid including the Consumer Secret in screenshots or large group emails.

After you save, complete the object mapping below before relying on automatic imports.

Configuring Salesforce or Litify

Open Settings → Integrations, then click Manage next to Salesforce or Litify.

Open the connected Salesforce integration to review its configuration.

In the Salesforce data mapping card, click Finish setup. On the dedicated mapping page, choose Salesforce or Litify. Quilia preselects the platform you chose while connecting.

Confirm the Salesforce object used for each Quilia record type. Litify usually uses its standard objects; a customized Salesforce organization may use different object names. Ask your Salesforce administrator if you are unsure which objects your firm uses, then save the mapping.

Confirm the Salesforce or Litify objects and fields that Quilia should use.

After saving, return to the integration page and confirm the connection shows Connected. Import one existing matter or create a test matter in Salesforce, then confirm it reaches the expected Quilia case type before enabling the integration for the rest of the firm.
