Phone Transfer, Co-Client Field Carryover, and Portal Fixes

By Kenny Eliason
Attorney Portal v2026.5.8

Mostly a fixes release. Two small additions worth calling out, then a tight list of fixes and polish.

What's New portal

  • Phone transfer and clear on case detail. When a CMS sends a household phone over with the wrong client attached, you can now clear it or transfer it to the right client from the edit dialog, without deleting and re-importing. Inline collision detection: type a phone that already belongs to another client at your firm and the transfer dialog opens prefilled.
  • Co-client contact details carry through on imports. Smokeball and MyCase co-clients now bring email, address, and date of birth into Quilia, not just name and phone. Parity for the other CMS integrations is queued.

Fixes and Polish portal

  • Treatment and Incident sub-tabs are instant. The previous one-to-three-second pause on tab clicks is gone.
  • Top-nav tabs are correct for non-PI case types. Wrongful death, criminal defense, veterans disability, naturalization, employment, labor violation, and general negligence cases were silently rendering the Motor Vehicle layout; about sixty cases are corrected.
  • Cases imported without a real case type (literal default) now use a minimal layout matching the mobile app, instead of falling back to the full Motor Vehicle layout.
  • Property damage cases get their "Claim Journal" page title back.
  • iPhone voice memos transcribe. .mov audio captured on iPhone is now extracted with ffmpeg before transcription instead of being rejected at the format check.
  • CMS connection status badges update within minutes of a real failure instead of staying green for hours.
  • Filevine integration health check no longer trips a database error on an OAuth onboarding placeholder.
  • Filevine import-case stops retrying 403 and 404 responses that will never resolve without operator action.
  • Deactivated firms no longer queue CMS document uploads. Stuck rows on those firms were flushed in the same release.
  • The Failed Imports page tags rows the system is still polling in the background as "Auto-fixing" instead of presenting them as if they need you now.
  • The sign-up page now uses the same shell as sign-in.
