Understand the typical timeline for personal injury cases and what factors affect duration.

One of the most common questions we hear is "How long will this take?" Here's what to expect.

Typical Timelines

Cases list in Quilia Portal
The Cases page showing all your clients and their case information

Simple Cases (Minor Injuries, Clear Liability)

6-9 months from accident to settlement

Moderate Cases

9-18 months is typical

Complex Cases (Serious Injuries, Disputed Liability)

18 months to 3+ years, especially if litigation is required

Factors That Affect Duration

Medical Treatment

We can't settle until you've reached maximum medical improvement. Longer treatment = longer case.

Liability Disputes

If the other side disputes fault, investigation and negotiation take longer.

Insurance Company Tactics

Some insurers delay intentionally. We push back, but it takes time.

Litigation

If we file a lawsuit, add 12-24 months for the court process.
