What is Rear-End Collision?
An accident where one vehicle strikes the back of another vehicle, typically establishing fault against the following driver.
Understanding Rear-End Collision
The rear driver is usually presumed negligent for following too closely or failing to stop in time. However, the lead driver may share fault for sudden stops, brake-checking, or malfunctioning brake lights. These collisions commonly cause whiplash and back injuries.
Examples
- 1Distracted driver rear-ending stopped traffic
- 2Chain-reaction collision on highway
- 3Rear-end crash at traffic light
